i was wondering the same thing yesterday. my mom had fallen out of touch with her years before, and i never met the woman. a little sleuthing yesterday turned up some evidence she might have retired from teaching a few years ago at an elementary school in oregon. if so, the one on the left here is her:

somebody else with her name still teaches older kids in minnesota---closer to home, but surely she's retirement-ready by now. if she's not dead she's well into her 70s.
