fried

I am. Fried. No particular reason I should be any more sapped this Wednesday afternoon at 4:39 than at any other ordinary afternoon moment opposite the computer at this desk. I even went for a walk today, in the cool cool fresh air.

Rumor is that Drew Barrymore was scouting locations in Ypsi today. It's uncertain whether it's for Whip It!, her upcoming directorial debut, set in Texas, in which "an indie-rock loving misfit finds a way of dealing with her small-town misery after she discovers a roller derby league in nearby Austin."

Reminds me that I want to go to roller derby. Detroit has a team.

i think there may even be *two teams. one of them is patronized by people in my (now former) department. something pistol-related in their name.

i'm trying not to be annoyed by the idea of the patronizing of some of those former fellow fellows of yours. after all, their money's as good as anyone's, as the expression goes. or better!

these aren't all bad, really. and it looks like they were having a good time, too.

Oh my goodness! I've become totally obsessed with roller derby in the last couple months! :) I want to go too!!! There's a bout on 5/31, but I work until at least 6:15, so I don't know that I'll be able to go. And I haven't had a great response from my friends about it...

I want to be a roller derby girl. :)

You don't feel a cold coming on? I think you look a little pale, and might have to leave early that day....

Ha! At the library? I might as well fire myself... :(

My friend Jill thinks we could make it to Detroit in 45 minutes...what do you think?

Quite possibly. And anyway, even if they're uber-punctual, it's not like missing the first 5 minutes would necessarily ruin the whole experience.
