It's May. My brother has baby owls at his place.

Wasn't happy with my entry in the (April-was-Poetry-Month) Portland poem contest at Powell's, but I did send 'em one. Couldn't resist taking a shot at the 26-book prize. Got a couple of those volumes outta the library, howe'er. (<---poetic "however")

I'll have to ask whether he's named them.

I'll put the chances at 4:1 he hasn't, if you want some action on that.

Heh. Bev and I love naming new animal friends whose paths we cross too. :) (A couple months ago, we ourselves met an owl named Clancy when I had to turn around in someone's driveway.)

which of those have you gotten out from the library? i read a li-young lee poem in the post sunday book world recently. i liked it so much i wanted to copy/type it. this reminds me to do that. it was from his new book, which was one of the 26. did you post your poem on lj and i missed it? http://www.powells.com/biblio/9780393065428

interesting that the powell's logo evokes a TV screen c. 1960.
