earlier today dr arwulf & fellow pitchpeople for donations (it's fundraising week in public radio, as you've perhaps noticed) were painting a picture of our sundays out in the audience with our radios and the old jazz, and i had to allow as how once in a while my midday sunday, if the timing is right, has something homey i can find myself liking that way, me and the radio and the dishes and the coffee and the cats. can't count on it. but it's there sometimes.

but, i do declare, the orphanned of spirit, and the orphannedness of spirit within me: they are to be contended with. what you said about seeing how orphans refuse to let others disturb their "peace" of solitude and beg to be disturbed at the same time. this is a thing. i feel it on both sides.
