Yeah, she said "AIDS" out loud in a room with George Bush in it. And she cites a few other tragedies that link tragedy to tragedy in a way I'm sure Americans can't hear enough. But what is this "prevailing" she's talking about? And doesn't the poem just suck?

Date: Apr. 19th, 2007 07:50 pm (UTC)one of the insidious parts of american womanhood is that liberation ends at sensible shoes. so everyone's now free not to wear a skirt and pointy shoes (that liberty is yet to be achiever in the ancestral land), but that doesn't mean one can skip other substantive obligations (such as enforcing niceness and propriety).
