451 words? What a number to stop on . . . so eerily reminiscent of Fahrenheit 451 that I can't help but expect book-burning to ensue.

oooooo... good point

I got some time at the computer last night. The excerpt has changed, too; I might find a way to post what I've got online, too. (I'm ambivalent about that option, as it's stream-of-consciousness at its most transparent, at least so far.)

Yeah, I saw that the excerpt had changed. I like the axe-wielding pixies. Very cool.

My childhood monsters were alligators under the bed. I couldn't let any limbs hang over the edge, or they would get me. Also, returning from the bathroom at night involved a running leap from the door to the bed to avoid them, as well.

They never got me.

Why do I feel we've maybe been over the childhood monsters before? Like brushing the toofers? You know, the stuff of those two or three hundred bedtime chats in 1980--81. It rings a bell, I guess I mean to say.

I'm sure we must have gone over childhood monster stuff, amongst so many other things. I didn't remember the pixies, I'm sorry to admit.

brushing the toofers
