I can't say that I'm surprised. The mainstream media pretty much decides who's going to make it past the primaries (or who has a shot at that) well before the races get under way. And sadly, most of the American people seem perfectly fine with that.
p.s. i was just thinking of you when i saw that interview excerpt with alison b about fun home. see, i've meant to read the book through again before fleshing out thoughts on it for you, but i find myself avoiding it. i think the close-to-home aspects have been bigger for me than i realized. feel as if i need to let it stew below the surface for a while before facing it again.
