it's character-building

So, we "character"s (as in "you're a real ___") may seem on some linguistic level not to need it, but I am, irregardless, engaging in character building. Right? That's what's happening, right? That's a wherefore, good buddy?

I begin to wonder whether I really have the touch necessary to make a go of my imagined big-business business of selling people rationalizations. I may be losing faith in my talent for that kind of thing.

on, no--- that's the old character. definitely. on account of i like to screw up that way. didn't we speak of this once, and it came out that this is a joy you are deprived of, as others would presume that the non-native is being ign'ant?

right right! i had totally forgotten about that...

but somehow that one also gets on the nerves of my language self, regardless of my weird name and esl-ness and everything, and i can't even say why. it's a bit like misunderestimating or something. like trying to hard maybe...

i'm trying to think of a similar thing in serbian. maybe later.
