Train timetable cynics will be gratified to hear that [livejournal.com profile] pijeanf's train, due into her western Mass. station this afternoon, is running 1 hr. 56 min. late (and is expected, at this point, to be 1 hr. 16 min. late arriving). She's pretty cool with arriving whenever, though, as long as she can make her radio show tonight.

Me, I'm a little tired, as one gets after having company on a long weekend (vs., say, laying about the house). Not that there's anything terribly taxing about hours at Pinball Pete's, for instance; must be the intensity of involvement with each shoot-'em-up or simulation or pinball machine. Well, and staying up later than the usual late every night can't help.

Next up (due in Friday): Gaea, the friend formerly known as Mary, who is probably going to be moving to the Sunshine Ranch soon. That's the World Headquarters of the Emissaries of the Divine Light.

I ended up being about 45 minutes late, thrilling R to no end. When he last checked the schedule it was at the 1 hr 16 min late point. Half way into that he checked again and realized he had to leave to get me NOW! I ended up only having to wait a couple minutes, and made my show with no problems. So, all was good.

The reason the train was late at all was cuz I had to divert my magic powers to give western Mass a sunny day for my arrival. With several days of sleep deprivation under my belt, I didn't have the energy to do both. Hee hee.

Hope all goes well with Gaea/Mary. Thanks for a fabulous visit!

Glad you weren't terribly late. (I followed the train all day and the most it got behind was just under two hours.) Caught your show last night, too. Pretty good! It was deja vu all over again with the dada, though.

Speaking of sleep deprivation, I overslept this morning, despite actually getting into the bed by midnight (for the first time in days and days). Guess I was catching up.

Yeah, all the dada was self-indulgent, I fully admit; the dada high has still not worn off (bounce, bounce). And it got my new music quota in, too. 25% of the show has to be new music, and I was way over that with dada and the other new stuff I played. What did you think of Digby? I thought you might like them.

I went to bed at 10 last night, and I'm exhausted still today. Definitely more catching up to do.

why 25%?

That demand seems kinda strange. Why? It's not like the Canadian content rule, where they want to give an artificial boost to the home-grown music. Is it so the "kids"'ll stay interested? What if you were doing a blues roots show? That kind of thing not allowed?

Actually, it's so the record companies will keep sending us free records. If they know we're playing new music, they'll be more inclined to do so. And, yes, in the case of a specialty show you can get an exemption from that rule. I'm into playing new stuff, so it's no biggie for me. One of the reasons I wanted to do the dj gig was to see what all was new anyway. Fits right in.

Yeah, I think I liked Digby. It was the cut one or two after that where I turned the volume down a little. (winky emoticon here)

Also, did you recognize "I Wanna Be Like You" when it came on?
