baseball (not that it matters much any more)

I'd decided I had something good to root for in the World Series after NY lost the first game: a four-game routing of the Evils by Florida. I'd also thought it would be sweet if Aaron Boone got no more hits, made a lot of errors, and then got injured in the off-season, so that pesky 11th-inning home run against the Sox would be his last major league hit. I also was rather enjoying the Yankee fans booing their own (slumping) Soriano.

But that's all screwed now, too. Soriano hit a HR. The Yankees won Game 2 by a good margin. And Boone did get a hit last night (after going 0-fer-4 in the opener)---though he committed 2 errors, at least.

I'm not even sure I'll watch the next game.

We haven't watched any of them yet. Just are done with baseball till spring. Nice that Boone had a couple errors, though.

Like your new photoshopped pic. Whaddaya think of my bulldog? : )

Oh, and how did ticket-procuring go?

third try at this one

Tried to respond to one of your posts last night and then tried to answer this comment today; both times, my (no doubt brilliant) words were gobbled up by the Big Dog of Cyberspace (not to be confused with Horatio's bulldog). So here we go again, much abbreviated:

GOT TIX to dada for thursday night. Here's hoping they actually do go on by midnight, not at 2 a.m. or something! I have proposed to H. that perhaps we try to fit naps in as well---concert preparation for the middle-aged.

Was it the failed post in which I mused that I couldn't possibly have known you for 21 years?

Better post this; you probably get on a train before long!

GOT TIX to dada for thursday night.

YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!! And yes, naps for the middle-aged, especially since we'll have been up since 5 freaking 30 in the am, are in order.

Bummer your brilliant words were lost twice in the mysteries of Live Journal. Every so often it'll do that with mine, too. Especially the brilliant ones. ; )

Was it the failed post in which I mused that I couldn't possibly have known you for 21 years?

We'll never know, I guess. But it's actually been 23!! Fall of 1980, kiddo. : )

Do you know I've known you longer than either of your own parents knew you? You've known me longer than my father knew me.

In other Lisa-type ponderables, Chester has now almost lived with me longer than I've lived in the same house with any other being. (Robbie lived at home the first 16 years of my life) (but really the first one doesn't count, you know? i hardly remember it) (so Chester's my most familiar home companion)

Crazy busy at work

Wild stuff, all those ponderables.

Robbie only lived at home your first 16 years? Was he back from school then when I was hanging around?

I guess he lived there a summer or two while going to UMBC, and he'd come home at holidays. (Remember when he brought that one kinda lispy guy home, and we thought he'd expanded his boundaries, if you know what I mean? That guy eventually married a woman Denise had known as a particularly devoted-to-the-orientation dyke. They're STILL together. Convenience? One of those role-reversal unions? I dunno.)

I do have vague memory of us pondering Robbie's expanded boundaries.
