here's another issue: how many syllables do you prefer in your dog names?

I may get a second dog next week! He is quite large. I've thought of a few names for him, and my preference is a one syllable name that I can quickly shout when calling him, but a name that I can easily lengthen into a 2 or more syllable endearment.
