dispatched it quick

So much for that ailment---it's effectively over, I reckon.

My appetite is back, too. With a vengeance.

Need a shower. Looking forward to it. Must remember to run by the library on the way home. Then eat something. Then the shower.

[livejournal.com profile] vjsmom, to my eternal consternation, has no appreciation for the indulgent long hot shower. I thought for a minute that maybe it came from having to zip in & out when there was an infant or toddler in the house, but she reported that she's never really gotten into it. Do you? I do.

And I'm going to get into it tonight.

Different from bathtub indulgence. Another thing entirely.

I'm put in mind of the old days of trying to have a bottle of that green bath gel on hand. What the hell was it called. A DKD thing. 'Twas twenty bucks a bottle, in yer fine dept stores, 'cept I did find it on super sale in KS once, and LTM once gave me a bottle of it. That stuff smelled great.

Got it.

Long hot showers are heavenly.

I don't know how anyone can stand to ever take a single shower that isn't at least 15 minutes long and boiling hot. I certainly can't.

Showers or baths... I like 'em both. They are entirely different, I agree. For me, showers are better when I want to wake up or get refreshed before going out somewhere, but baths are better when I want to wind down and just relax, often at the very end of the day. I like both quite warm. I don't aim for boiling, but sometimes I forget how warm it is until I get out and see that I've turned all pink.

Ah--yes--the long, hot bath. now that I did used to like. As long as the tub was really clean (I am, after all, OCD). If I were really doing it up right, I'd take a bubbly hot bath in a candlelit bathroom with soft music and (back in "the day") wine. Cliche but relaxing.

I think that my distaste for the long shower comes from my compulsive need to be getting on with stuff, and I'm usually showering before going out somwhere. Now a long shower for two . . . (as long as the shower is really really clean) . . .

To me, shower sex is of limited appeal. With women, anyway. Good for fore- or after-play, I guess, or whatever better terms one might use there. And just mutual showering play, okay, sure. Haven't yet had shower sex with a man.

Bathtub sex, better with a woman? Also, haven't done that with a man. I guess it all depends what sort of activity you're engaging in, gender regardless.

i'm reconsidering baths as well now that i know that i may not in fact be the capital of the candid kingdom.

showers -- longish and hottish. it's not good for the skin that way, but my muscles like it.

Delighted to hear that you're feeling better!

Oh, and no. I've never been a fan of the long, hot shower either. I take lukewarm to cool showers and like to get them over with before I get horribly knifed.

But you know, I have issues...

MMMM...long, hot showers are quite loverly and quite necessary at times. I like to get in when they are tepid, and then slowly turn down the cold water until I'm almost scalded then turn the cold back on just a sliver more. Oh...and I run my hot water heater at about 180-200 degrees, so I don't have to boil water in my house....just comes out hot enough for tea or cocoa. My morning showers are a ritualistic 8-10 minute bathing gesture...Long, relaxing showers come out to be about 30 minutes...I haven't found a bath tub big enough to take a bath in in a LONG time. When I did, I liked staying in far past the "pruning point."

BTW...I'm having a party...shoot me an email at my address in my info page and I'll send you the invite. I don't have your email address yet.

My hot water heater, sadly, doesn't give the degrees. It has "hot", "warm" and "vacation", with a few points in between.
