late; cold. fully awake. (a dull entry, i warn ye)

I've gotta get that ---hey, look: lj is telling me it's autosaving my draft as I type! every, what... 10 seconds? this here could be a serious improvement in functionality, lemme tell ya.

I was going to say I've gotta get that little cube of a space heater my mama bought me back when & stick it under this desk. Even in socks and boots my feet are freezing, as they always do, at this corner of the no-sub-floor floor. (I think there's just crawl space under me here, too.)

Well.

I've been futzing with my taxes here at 3 something a.m. Trying to get down all the details. Looks like I won't owe 'em anything, despite the hunk o' freelance last year. That's good.

I paid bills earlier this evening.

It's so touch-and-go that way, operating on no margin, or a negative one, most months. I try not to let it get to me too much---one volitional way of letting money ruin one's life is to be all down about it much of the time. Or even some of the time beyond what's necessary or helpful.

My frugal February has been a mixed bag. Haven't gotten the heating bill yet, though. That's going to tip the bag over into lopsidedness, I fear.

Saw Mrs. H with O earlier, then kinda crashed the end of RR, where J was Uing, and ran into S and A.

Gotta get these cold feet under the covers.

Night, all/any.

us too:)

"we're" having a cold snap, as well. it's sweet to hear people tell the story of when it got so cold in 1969 that the water actually froze!!! imagine!

it reminds me of one summer when i was young and it was around a 110, several days in row (with the usual brutal humidity of a drained wetlands) and i pressed myself into the ground *sure* that i was dying, for days.

complaining about the weather annoys the crap out of me, but i love to see humans dazzled by it. . . reminds me that deep down inside, we're little furry animals too.

some of us furrier than others

for example, me. i'd be, say, a golden retriever rather than a black lab, but not a very young kitten.

furry taxes

speaking of what one owes to the Organizing Principle, fflo, this furry friend might ask for some assistance with the dues, especially those sent to the Principle Organized Around the Great Lakes (POAGL). The state of POAGL has finally admitted that I reside here (for blood-extraction purposes), so it might be easier than before. this is because Blood Extraction Professionals (BEPs) did my POAGL taxes last year since i didn't know what to do about the time i lived in the Principle Organized Around the Rotten Empire (POARE), and i guess they didn't feel like challenging their knowledge of Great Principles. since you are a BEP of sorts, albeit of a much more likeable kind than those who extracted more blood for the service last year, i would greatly appreciate your help, if you can spare some.

that was furry me above, btw and of course.

This big drooly furry one would be happy to help. I'm a fellow temporary POAGLian, too, after all. I'm just now debated whether to launch into finishing the Feds and starting the POAGLs or emptying the bookcase by the bed so's to move the dresser over there so's to re-do the litter box area so's to move ahead on Project I'm Acting Like I Care About My Environment, Even In The Bedroom, Cuz I Do I Just Don't Act Like It...

(Yeah, that's what has doing the taxes looking good.)

Of course we could just escape to Detroit NOW. If that housemate of yours is awake. (ha)

awakenhood

[identity profile] shmizla.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
he's awake, but he has also found a new heart for atheltic activity. he is going *swimming and will be back by six. i'll call you to iron out the details soon.

I just remembered that I personally was largely responsible for that big screw-up with your state taxes a few years ago. Sure you trust me?

POAGL knows not

[identity profile] shmizla.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
i don't think you ever made a mistake, but we didn't have the big old BEP letterhead on which to argue authoritatively for my oneness with the Principle. i think unity has now been established and i can proceed safely.

also interesting (to me) -- late night for all?

[identity profile] shmizla.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
why were we all up so late last night? meteoropaths? (this is what my mother has been calling herself since the surgery -- she's *obsessed with weather and how it's changing globally and what-it's-like-where-you-are and it's all she wants to talk about)

or just a bad biorhythm? maybe we could have a positivist-biologist-determinist theory of friendship -- relates those who share prominent elements of biorhythm :).

I dunno! It was after 4 when I finally got my eyes to shut for the night. Even the CPAP associations with unconsciousness were lost on me. And then I got up early, too. (Well, early for a Saturday when I was up so late the night before.)

... and so maybe it's like women who hang together synching up with the ol' menses?
