Postcard of the Day
Aug. 8th, 2026 02:18 pmToday it's actually postcards, and I have
ghost_light to thank for them, and for many others--- a snail-mail gift from the great north. Here are a selection of Japanese cards therefrom:
Texted sprig5 (whose lj is long-dead & who doesn't remember the password or the email the account was made with), who's been to Japan, for a possible gloss on the text for the set at the upper right here; she texted a friend and relayed me this blurb:
"The picture and the brochure is about City of Hamamatsu festival in Shizuoka Prefecture.

They do huge kite flying, procession of traditional festival floats etc. Hamamatsu Castle was the main resident of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who founded Tokugawa Shogunate."
Seems like Japan has some cool festival proclivities.
Thanks so much,
ghost_light, for the cards, and for thinking of me!
