Friday afternoon at the office

It feels a bit like a sprint to the finish today. Don't know why, in particular. I'm getting a lot done, I guess. Gonna get out of the building for a little break in a few.

Saw [livejournal.com profile] lovelikeyeast for happy hour yesterday. That was good. Some [livejournal.com profile] shmizla the day before, and maybe some more later tonight.

Life goes on! On my mind: the next steps in embracing my domestic surroundings; maybe working the general organizational dabbling I'm up to into a full-out binge, beyond the nascent e-mail purging & filing (no small project) to desk cleaning out & perhaps even that affairs-getting-in-order the annual paper stuff at work poked me to consider; taxes; first visit to the new local branch of La Shish (with [livejournal.com profile] squirrelykat and [livejournal.com profile] dreampower tomorrow, it looks like).

Plus movies & TV on DVD & the building & the kitties.

Not just yet to make a vacuum and see what fills it. A little chockful still, yet, now.

And, dang, in just a matter of weeks now I may be futzing with the annually burgeoning jungle that is the back yard.

That re-opened OTTO window is surely ready for my password now...

local la shish?

It's at Carpenter & Washtenaw---where the Bill Knapp's was. Major intersection; big parking lot; large La Shish. mmmmmmm

so far, the lebanese food out here is *nasty*. they wouldn't know good falafel or baba or humous from a trout. oh the middle-east of the middling-west, i should have loved you more when you were mine!!

Do let me know how you like La Shish. I have a friend who is dying to take me there, but I'm picky about meatstuffs and a bit apprehensive about going.

It's against my better judgment to ask you this, but what do you mean by being picky about meatstuffs?

For example, I don't eat any meat that is still on the bone...no chicken legs, no ribs, although I crack the hell out of some shellfish. the whole sinking my teeth into flesh to tear it from bone reminds me of zombie movies.

I also don't like to know about any tendons or hunks of fat or gristle that a lot of meat eaters (and especially steak fans) seem to be okay with. As such, I largely eat ground meats and seafood.

Ah. Well I'm pretty sure you'd be okay with those preferences, even if you chose a meat option. But there are plenty of nonmeat choices too.

I guess I should have assumed as much.

Thanks!
