say it ain't so

They're gonna drill in the Arctic Nat'l Wildlife Refuge*[correction below!]. And Johnny Damon's going over to the dark side.

I guess the election in Bolivia & the NY Times printing that story & the federal court decision on "intelligent design" were too many good things in a row.

Just found out we get out of MR at noon! Have a dinner-type party some time Friday night, but don't know when yet. When do you get here? Wanna go for drinks in the late aft/early eve? happy hour? or even a late lunch or somethin'?

Wha'? Supah! I read the piece on the budget bill wrong, obviously---it referred to the defense/ANWAR bill and I thought it said the filibuster had failed. Obviously now I see that vote hadn't happened yet.

Did I ever tell you I went to old Comiskey, the last year it was there? It was a drive-all-night from Baltimore, see game, drive-all-night back thing. (My gf at the time was big into baseball, and was game for crazy travel.) (I think I'm less game for the crazy travel than I used to be, myself---I'd not set out on a venture like that one just for fun anymore, at least.)

Yes, it's sad. Sad that I have to hate him now. But it's easy to hate him, as he's done the definition of unforgiveable! How many millions do you need? I have no problem with his being mad at the Red Sox for not re-signing his buds. Good for him, in fact, that way. But the Yankees are the line beyond which thou shalt not go, else win eternal damnation from baseball person with a heart.

I'm going to go try to call you now. Wonder if you've crashed for the night.
