Postcard of the Day

I've locked myself out of LJ, apparently botching the password too many times, when suddenly asked to log in again, so I'm starting this post here in Dreamwidth. You don't suppose they know how I feel about Navalny, do you? Interestingly, it's been impossible for me to pay for anything there for some time, so they've just kept extending my paid account.

Anyhow, I don't know how to do a cut here, and they're functionally not as good anyway, so two other cars for Bus Week that I was going to put behind a jump are now out here for you:

What fabulous buses!

Although I can't imagine ascending to the top level of the red bus while wearing nice clothes on a rainy evening.

I'm sorry you're locked out of LJ

that's a very unnerving feeling.

I use the Markdown/HTML editor, and there are two ways to cut an image:

<cut text="optional words outside the cut"> Material inside the cut</cut>

DW respects LJ's slightly longer version

<lj-cut text="optional words outside the cut"> Material inside the cut</lj-cut>

The drawback is you can't see the cut on preview. To confirm format I post privately and then edit access to public or filtered when it looks right.

Another option is the HTML cut:

<details><summary>visible title</summary>material inside the cut</details>

visible titlematerial inside the cut

which does show up on preview. The drawback is every user must click every triangle -- unlike the native DW cut, where users have fine control over when/where cuts expand.
