My long weekend has begun.
I've clocked out and even shut down the work computer. Seems like lotsa folks are in something of a take-it-easy (or take-it-all-off) mode this week, at MR.
My first adventure was to get delivery from Totoro, so I could try natto--- they have a natto & scallion sushi roll. I can see how it's an acquired taste. One I can't say I've acquired yet. Indeed it is sticky! But I may give it a go again. I also got fatty tuna and eel nigiri, and miso soup. Mmmm, miso. Mmmm, eel with eel sauce.
So I've got some goals for the weekend, but none absolute. It'd be good to get the new toilet seat on---the one that came with the bidet attachment cracked pretty quick, and I've got what I hope will be a workable (and sturdier) replacement on deck. I'd also like to at least prep for some painting I need to do before winter comes. And I want to be good to myself in body care, and amp the PT stuff back up, as I've gotten slack about that, and I need what it gives me.
Gotta say, though I've depleted my "household" savings now, I do feel as if getting the new cement stoop slab top and the yard clearing were good big things to get done. All too easy to turn my gaze only to the many things that still need doing. But it's still a kick when I walk into the kitchen and see all that cleared jungle where I'd only seen overgrowth for so long---and this time it won't all just grow right back up, almost instantly.
Took a few more pix, so here are some before, during and afters (some behind cuts). Just two days' work.

before during today
The views from another window, plus some worker "action" shots, here:
Not sure when to move on a new deck. It's falling apart worse than it looks in these shots. Would be nice to be able to walk out onto a new one & enjoy that. But that'll mean invoking the HELOC, and will be its own whole thing.
Gotta decide whether to paint or re-stain rickety front steps.
The weather sure is lovely. I love that.
Good weekends to you, whenever yours get started.
