Sadly, our nation is more sympathetic to the beliefs of people whose moral compass is directed by... pixies or something... than by people who believe that workers in the service industry are employed with the intention of serving one and all, regardless of said worker's "moral compass," noisy though said compass may be. If anti-choice jackasses are allowed not to fill birth-control prescriptions, why aren't racist Denny's servers allowed not to serve niggers? Same thing, in my book.

There was a great Onion teaser a week or two ago that said, "Christian Scientist Pharmacist Refuses to Fill Any Prescription."

Exactly.

I have have had a rant frothing in my mind for some time. One of these days I will post it. It ties the "unexpected" consequences with hurricane Katrina (unexpected by those with contempt for science, anyway) with the unexpected consequences of global warming, the New Madrid fault, evolution of influenza, introduced species...oh, you name it.

Ugh.
