I'm feeling a little more anonymous than I like to this past coupla days.

I've also not had my usual caffeine intake during this time. A connection?

So, in the Archetypically Dull Topic of Conversation vein, can you believe August 22nd is actually a little chilly? Here as late as noon, even? What goes on? Is this the beginning of the apocalypse? Should I be preppin' for the rapture? Perhaps my fellow Michiganders and -geese aren't astonished, but Where I Come From these are the dog days. On accounta a dog just lays there with its tongue out, lookin' dead except for the rapid heaving of the chest and the drooly trail of sweat.

August 22 is one month before the equinox. Sun is halfway down to the equinox position. Same angle as the April 20 sun.

Fall is a'comin.

I say, Bring It On!

I understand that crabbing season runs through September, but that's about it. How long does rocket season last?

I plan on attending two launches in September. I know there are launches later, including one that happens at a farm near Three Oaks (far Southwest corner of the state) in November after the corn is harvested. But it the Three Oaks launch is often pretty nasty out.

And yes, I've launched in the snow.

Usually there are a few cool days like this in the summer, this summer less so than others. Get ready for it to get hot again in a few weeks:) Having a lateish September birthday, I've seen anything from 40-90 degrees.

It's cooler here today too--only up into the mid 80s--and the humidity is a bit lower. I should be out in the yard (pullig weeds and picking up sticks), but I'm going to wait until after dinner, I think. I also think that I'll get Jeff and his friends to help with the sticks. They had fun pulling the wagon around and loading it up with sticks once before.

Let me put "cool" in context for you: lows in the LOW 50s, highs in the LOW 70s. For a day or two here, anyway. Ha! I think my lower back pain is more attributable to having slept a little chilled than to the flurry of late-night cleaning I did yesterday (after a fair amount of physical activity the day before, too). (C&H have a clean cleared condo now, though, among other improvements, like fresh sheets on the crappy really-needs-replacing mattress.)

I had notions of getting after some errant growth in the front yard myself this weekend, but haven't. And the weeds is gettin high. Might get a neighbor knocking on the door soon (or, more likely, turning me in to the city).
