Summer Game wrap
Aug. 24th, 2025 10:26 pmBy the time film time rolled around, the crazy crowd at the library this year had diminished. They stopped some activities a full hour earlier & took down the banner for taking pix against---what is that called? Like they have at the Oscars? A backdrop thing? Pretty sure there's a name for it. I'm pretty sure there were fewer films this year, too. But there were some good ones, for sure.
I left another poem in the electric typewriter, and now it feels as if summer's about to wrap. The U students start classes tomorrow. Pretty soon I'll have to go back to CHOR-us, which I'm spelling that way to imitate the "oh, geez, now I gotta do that" feeling that I have, now thinking of fall, and pretty much every night I've got rehearsal. I still think I want to do it, and be in it, and some of the most fun I have is guessing how my part goes when we're first going over music. You know, sight reading. I'd have thought before I joined that I'd hate that part, but it's my fave.
All of sudden, typing here, I'm flushing warm. This's been happening off and on lately, but on rather a lot. I thought I was past menopause. And I probably am. But now I hear that one can get hot flashes whenever, and one can even get them later if one (like me) rarely or never got them before. How tedious. It's all of 62 degrees F outside, and I've got lots of windows open. Sure, it's a tad humid, but not so humid I'm getting one of those alerts that I get now that I have a smart themostat.
Went to a party yesterday and am now thinking maybe I *would* like to have people over. Like, casually but in numbers more than 1 at a time, or 2, or even 3. I'm a long way from being ready for such a thing, but it's an idea.
Meanwhile, though, there's this year's version of dealing with the front stoop. And I don't even know what-all.
Somebody at work gave me an idea of a sight gag I might could use in a one-minute film of animated sight gags. Kids might laugh. Making kids laugh is the best.
