I didn't see the debate last night, and it sounds like that was just as well. But I did see that Oklahoma is requiring that the bible be taught in schools, and the supreme court (whom I hereby & herewith strip of their capitalization) has decided that towns can bar homeless people from sleeping in public. Without providing them any other option.
And it's been a week of a lot of pain, which I'd hoped would be diminishing by now. Makes everything a little harder to deal with, including endless discussions and routine work and technical glitches and new workplace rules and I don't know what-all. Oh, the big decision about whether to go to the queer chorus convention. Although I suppose in a way the pain is arguing, in itself, on one side of that question.
I've only got another week or so to make pet-sitting arrangements and finalize travel plans & prep, if I go through with it.
Did get to work on some training exercises today. Just a few of the handful I'm going to contribute for making rosters. I've stepped up to take on 3 other (trickier) subjects/lessons too. I suppose the fact that I need to prep those, and do the whole hiring thing too, is another argument for not taking a stretch of days off in July.
But I also have the idea that crops up every year of trying to get up to the UP, finally, to see the waterfalls. Funny it pops up when I'm having such pain. I've pretty much decided not to go to Cleveland for the O's games there this year, from the "ugh, ow" factor.
Wish I knew for sure that this would get better soon. Like, real soon, as long as I'm wishing.
Could they even substitute someone in for Biden now? That California guy, maybe? I know Pete the sellout Buttigeg probably thinks he's in line, and maybe he is, but I'm still pissed at him and Kamala for conspiring to stick us with Biden to begin with, to fight off Bernie.
Heard on the radio driving in today how right-wing a-holes are targeting black women in academia with plagiarism accusations. You'd think they'd try to use the well-established Biden plagiarism that sank his initial forays into the presidency, years back, if they're going to suddenly act like they care about plagiarism. Ol' Joe spoke at my little college (near Delaware) when he was not yet old, and his cheating hadn't yet been exposed, and my buddies and I liked what he was saying, until that revelation (and others since) made it clear how he'd say all kindsa stuff he thought would go over but wasn't apparently the architect of much, if anything, that we were looking for, other than supporting Amtrak.
Enough. I think I'm hungry too. Gotta figure out a plan for that. I'm thinking just now that it should involve food.
