Lorrel just brought me some sunnygrains (my fave at Barry's) and stayed to chat, and both cats let her pet them.  I'd been watching some more of The Graduate, which I may've never seen all the way through, and was too young to understand whenever I did (like, in my early 20s?  ha).   I discovered that the new surge protector's plug is too big to fit through the hole in the back of my crendenza, doggone.  We talked about this & that; she doesn't know any more than I do about the latest drama development with chorus "leadership", but has an angle to try to learn more.

I followed her out and walked to the mailbox with no sticks, and there was my federal tax refund, which I'd thought I'd set up to be direct deposited, but I guess not.  Yay.  Good timing, too.

Something's going on at the stadium, and the wind & temperature are such that I hear the screams, here maybe a mile to the east-of-south.  Wait, let's find out how far.  Hmm, maybe it's lacrosse?  Would there be crazy yelling for lacrosse?  It's considerably closer as the crow goes, just across the railroad tracks, so no direct path.  And I think it's elevated, compared to here.  Distance to the stadium as crow flies = 1.34mi.  And now I know how to measure distance in Google Maps.

Got an online workshop a little later today, and still not ready for electrician, and haven't done my homework for said workshop.  But it's like a fuckin' holiday here, with the knees better, and the windows open, and the cats so happy.  So what if I still have a lot to do for the potential insurance claim, and a couple of bills to pay, and, I dunno, w/e.

Of late I have had so little contact with this attitude that I'm itchin' to bottle it, somehow, so I can pull it out for a big swig next time I'm struggling with stresses that I don't have to choose.  They don't make me get things done any faster or better, and make life less fun.  But I forget I have a choice, and/or forget how to make that choice.  Maybe sometimes that choice isn't available to me.  But I'd like to make it available more.  More often.  Please, Grace.
