Lots of involved, plot-heavy dreams last night.  Was in bed before 10:00.  Usually when I look at the neighbors' places as I go to bed I see no houses (of the 10 or 11 I can see out the window) with lights on, or MAYbe one; last night most houses still had someone burning before-midnight oil.  Then didn't get up early for a shower this morning, or to eat breakfast at home, or come in to the office before my mid-morning start time.

The old story was that you can't make up sleep, but more recent work has suggested that trying to pay back some sleep debt is better than just going sleep-deprived.

I'm suddenly reminded that I haven't heard from the sleep coach people the sleep doc referred me to.  Guess I need to call them soon.

Winter is ending, and I now have A/C ready to go when it gets hot, and a fancy new thermostat-- my third at this house.  It's pretty, and when I feel up to it, I will explore its many options for me, including some I can play with from someplace other than standing right next to it.

The main installation people were two guys, one who talked a lot and one who barely spoke.  The talky one gave me a tip for insulation (he lives in an even older house than mine) and an idea for something maybe cheaper than more gravel for the driveway (which these guys left really messy-muddy, traipsing back & forth in it during yesterday's rains): road millings.  But I do think I'd better pick up a few bags of gravel as a stop gap for the places I walk especially much.  Anyway, it seems like there's always another house thing coming to mind--- or 3 or 4 coming up, more like it, for every 1 I get done.  There's a newly broken basement window that has me thinking glass blocks for at least one of those is good, and then more later.  And addressing insulation.  So many bits that seem appropriate to do before getting the house painted (which itself will involve siding repair).

That's it for my morning work break.  Gonna go with a rare second cup of coffee.  And aim to beat some neighbors to bed again tonight.
