I've had a pretty relaxing long weekend.  Have barely done any chores, though I've been keeping the dishes done & cooking for myself a little.  Peter and I are aiming to get together tomorrow, all cuz it's gonna be end-of-summer hot, and he never goes to his condo swimming pool, and I want a barbecued hamburger.  It's just too hot to do much, plus there are Orioles games to watch, and I've been playing a submarine game on my phone.

Here comes Yennier Cano, to try to close out the game against the Arizonas.  It's looking pretty good.  After dropping a couple of games in a rown, the O's are on the verge of winning this series.  Not to jinx anything.  And in fact it's already happened, whatever happened--- I'm just catching up with the recording.

Yikes, solo homer fromtthe first Diamondback here in the bottom of the 9th.  Still a 3-run cushion....

Of the other hot teams in baseball right now, the Seattles are my second faves.  But that won't stop me from making some funny bet against Susan Dennis, should our teams be going against each other in the post-season (which I hope they will).

There's an attempted Baltmore chop, but Cano caught up with it.  1 away.  And here comes the #9 hitter, Perdomo.  Generally I root for #9 hitters, but not this one.  Not against the O's this year.  Cano's not giving him anything good to hit so far, it seems.  2-1.  Foul, 2-2.  Then a ground ball to O'Hearn, the former Royal the O's got off the scrap heap, and who's rewarded them well.

Some game I was watching recently had an inning of play-by-play from a fan whose husband had won it for her in an auction.  She was clearly a fan, but not so much a play-by-play person.  When she wasn't talking about how she got the surprise, the most she usually said about the ball game would be the likes of "Ball one."  Of course that got me to thinking:  how would I do, if I got that half inning in the press box with a live mic?

2-2 to some Arizona now.  Nobody on.  Two down.  C'mon, Cano, let's wrap 'er up.

Fouled off.

Ground ball to O'Hearn again, and that's it!  O's win!!!
