fflo: (sarandon bats)
The young hot (as in winning a lot) Orioles are about to be on my TV, playing [personal profile] susandennis's Mariners (who beat the O's last night).  Them Seattles have 8 wins in a row, so that's pretty hot right there.  Sounds like they've got some pitching this year.  But of course I'm rooting for the Orioles.  Susan, if they end up in the post-season against each other, shall we make some creative bet about it?  Some silly thing the loser has to do or give the winner?  (Susan's at the game tonight, so I'm looking for her in the crowd.)

The Mariners do have great uniform colors.
Today I had some bummerishness in the afternoon. I didn't go to the choruses karaoke gathering, though I was tempted after chorusmate Victoria sold me my 8-grain 3-seed; she was debating going herself.  I have to remember her name next time.  The marble counter at the Bakehouse was so wonderfully cool.  Later I decided fuck it, though.  The chorus has bummed me out lately.   And I had other things I wanted to do.

I got some library codes, both in the wild and at a branch (Pittsfield), where I returned my Interlibrary Loan.  Then I went to the mall to go into the Apple store and look at the new MacBook Air options. I've decided that the new 15-inch version really is worth it.  It's only 200 bucks more.  The screen seems considerably bigger, and yet it's not considerably heavier; I don't tend to move my laptop around that much anyway.  The battery lasts just as long.  But the main thing is that its speakers are much better than those on the 13".  I know, if I really cared a lot about sound, I'd get external speakers.  But realistically, I ain't gonna.  And I don't wanna.  I've also decided I'll shell out for Final Cut Pro, so if there's another Tiny Film Festival, I'll be in much better shape to edit it as well as I want to edit it.

I was pretty leg-sore after the mall, but I went to the grocery store anyway.  Just want to tick off some things this weekend, and that's a big one.  Monday the landscapers are finally coming, to start the (costly) de-jungling of my back yard.

Starting tonight for Seattle:  George Kirby.  Leading off for your Baltimore Orioles:  Adley Rutschman, one of the exciting players on the team this year.  He struck out, and here comes Cedric Mullins, pretty fresh off the IL, which is what the DL is called now.

I googled dogs and old single people.  Mostly it was breed recommendations.  I'm not that into little dogs, and greyhounds (Mullins just struck out too) are nice and all but don't seem right for me, a fat person.  Anthony Santander is up.  Gotta love him.  I've never really considered a pug before, but it does seem pugs get along well with cats.

Santander popped out to right, and now the Seattles are batting.

I don't so much follow baseball any more, but my TV records the Royals and the Oriole games that I get.  WIth Baltimore leading the division, they're on more often.  I had the pleasure of seeing them beat the Yankees to win the season series against those nemeses.

Cole Irvin has struck out the first Seattle.  Guess I'll just sit back and enjoy the game.  Put my feet up.

Where is your seat, Susan Dennis?  I want to say first base line, not too far down, not too far up.
