:D

I had a 72-month loan, but paid a little extra here and there (mostly just rounding up 8 bucks and change every month), and just now, by paying a good chunk extra (but not 2 whole payments), I paid it off in 69 payments.

My first Jeep loan, on my 1989 Cherokee (3 years old when I bought it), involved a booklet of payment coupons you would mail in with your check.  I paid that one off a little early too.  It was a really long loan, somehow.  I think the regular payment was $155.85.

Dare I say that money things are okay right now?  Surely that's tempting Fate.  I'm not one of those people who throws the chunk of expensive cheese in the handbasket without even looking at the price, but I can accommodate little luxures like that now and then, and even manage a bigger luxury, like my new chair, without going into debt.  It's wild.

Still haven't gotten those danged windows installed.  Gotta call 'em.  They've blown off my other attempts to reach them.

It seems like there's been a lot going on lately.  I didn't wear a bow tie Tuesday and so didn't write about some of it then.  Today I've been trying to figure out how I can fit in a few days off before the new hire starts; it begins to dawn on me that the way I'm going to do it is by working nights and weekends, and that's not really any time off at all.  But I have a ton of leave, and there's some pressure to take time off, to illustrate how I'm taking care of myself and hitting some sweet spot in the range of ideal leave usage from the imaginary perspective of an institution that doesn't actually have a perspective, itself.

Yesterday was George's memorial.  I had a birthday recently, and did get an extra long-weekend day out of that.  I dunno.  I don't know where to start, to catch up.  But I'll have more Atlantic City for you for the next few days.
