That's what my dormmates kidded me for days for having said, drunkenly, about the stubbly-faced guy I'd been making out with all the way back from the math dept party. I liked being kidded about that. Among other things, it was a laugh that turned on, and thus emphasized, my having become enough of a dyke that a stubbly face was a novelty.

All I could find quickly online that's definitely that guy is this pre-scruffy picture from several years before that (he's the one on the right):
