Hey, all kindsa Democrats won elections yesterday. Desperate for signs of the tide turning, I often don't know whether I'm actually seeing such a sign or just unable to resist stretching for one---thus undercutting my optimism in its very nascence. (Is that even a word? Surely it's not "nascentness.") Gotta read some press & alterna-press later today & see what folks are saying.
Gave away a whole box of canned stuff yesterday, and that felt good. Then saw the Squid and Whale movie. It was a bit (tragi-)comically over-the-top here and there, to me, but I liked it---worth seeing, if you're thinking of it, I daresay. I confess to having recognized some of the tribulations of the kids (the protagonists, I reckon) from my own upbringing, so my aesthetic opinions about it may be suspect.
