Unlike [livejournal.com profile] anderyn, I read at a glacial pace. The latest ongoing read is The Book of Salt by Monique Truong, a novel I heard about in the writing sample of a young woman applying for a copyediting job here at MR. It's rich and carefully crafted, and I love the premise (protagonist is cook to Gertrude and Alice). I don't want to use it all up in a week, let alone in one night.
