raspberries & outsiding

I had fun at coworkers' gathering in honor of [livejournal.com profile] disclaimerwill on Friday night, and I did a buncha improvisational fun stuff Saturday with [livejournal.com profile] bigfinedaddy, but that all feels kinda far in the past already after chock-full yesterday. Sat a.m. while picking berries in the yard I thought I oughta have a few peeps join in, and next thing I knew I'd thrown together a more-or-less impromptu berry picking gathering & breakfast for the next morning---a small affair, but quite pleasant. Speaking for myself, at least [winky thingie].

Running around for the rest of Sunday sucked every ounce of energy from me, and I loved it. Loved flinging a ball around at the park. Loved the batting cages. Loved being in the sun. (Yeah, I know---that last one doesn't sound much like me, does it. Go figya!)

Got very little freelance work in, but that's okay. Did secure one of the last spots in the next swim class.

It feels like summer around here. I almost said something about all the students being out of town, but of course they aren't all out of town. IYKWIM. A ridiculous thing to fret about, but I feel the need nonetheless.

Go figya!

IYKWIM--what's this?

It does feel like summer, if you swim. I have not swum regularly in years myself. But Sunday A and I went to Quiet Waters "Dog Beach" in Annapolis, and not to test your ever-changing fave-dog loyalties, but we saw a very cute Bernese Mtn Dog puppy there, accompanied by a BMD adult (wonder if it was the same duo I saw in Dupont Circle a few weeks ago-- I was too busy watching my errant Birdie to inquire). A and I had Harper and Birdie with us, and it is fun to discover that Birdie likes to swim. Harper doesn't like to so much, but at one point, Birdie was swimming and A and I had waded out to encourage her, and Harper had to come out to see what was going on and not be left out.

"If You Know What I Mean." (no, not a standard chat abbr)

I'm still favoring the Newfies. And talk about swimming. Webbed feet!

Glad your beast could coax hers into a little adventure! I must admit: my swimming's been indoors. Hope to do some lake dabbling before the summer's over.

awwwww, how schweet-- esp those first two shots. I'd be tempted to kiss them, even though they (it? same dog twice?) looks drooly.

That's right-- the Newfy and the Lab both have the webbed feet, and many think the Lab got webbed feet from the Newfy. To me, the newfy is very hairy with a cute lab face peering out.

and why didn't I use my estranged (not really) son's picture this time? here-- i've used it.

How is the ol' Cooper Pooper, anyway?

The largesse is appealing to me. Some say, of course, that we like dogs that look like us, but I still attribute the better part of my affection for the big'n's to LA'n'L's doggies ([Buffalo] Pie, then Bessie Mae [Mucho]). Of course I did have that childhood fondness for Saint Bernards.
