Date: Aug. 21st, 2020 05:18 pm (UTC)I don’t know if you saw the pics I posted a week or so ago of Marfa, TX but it’s on my bucket list. It’s in the middle of nowhere—7 hours west of Austin and 3 hours from the nearest airport (El Paso or Midland). But speaking of the keys, it’s 5 hours drive from Tampa to Homestead. It’s another 3 down Route 1 to Key West. But you have to do it at least once because it’s gorgeous, so I’ve heard. It’s probably best to fly to Miami & rent a car.

Date: Aug. 21st, 2020 05:25 pm (UTC)I haven't flown since before you had to take your shoes off, and now doesn't seem like a great time to return to the air. My drive to Key West from here is... let's see... 22 hours and 53 minutes. Whoa.
I've heard a few things about Marfa, or vaguely recall some art stuff being associated with it. Cool if you do get there.
