anticipating movies

I have Withnail & I at home, outta the library, and will be getting Of Human Bondage, a pre-code Bette Davis that looks pretty juicy, tomorrow. Hope to get a chance to see it & send it back so's to have 3 kid offerings on hand while J's in town, in case some laidback entertainment is called for at some point (maybe before bedtime?). For that purpose my queue will next be coughing up the Schoolhouse Rock collection, a selection of Wallace & Gromits, and a Best of The Muppet Show DVD with Steve Martin, Carol Burnett, and Gilda Radner.

I need to lay in a supply of macaroni & cheese & other quickie foods. He's a growing kid, and apparently has quite the appetite these days! (Wonder if there's a growth spurt going on.)

You know, being my buddy and also located locally you should feel free to borrow movie thingy's from my collection. Some of it is packed right now, but even still i have plenty of great viewing around here that I'd be happy to loan you for free.

tyvm! i'd love to take advantage of it. i recently got a gift sub to Netflix & have been getting a steady stream therefrom, but there are times when i'm waiting for something from them, or when I can't digest yet another episode of The Bob Newhart Show right now, but don't want to send the disc back ...

Right on. Yeah, just let me know when you want to pop by and peruse the collection.

There is always that possibility of a growth spurt with him. These usually occur right after we've purchased a bunch of clothes.

BTW--what's yer weather supposed to be like for the next little while? I guess I could just go to weather.com, but I thought I'd make small talk in your blog instead.

I was just thinking last night to suggest that you prepare for cool evenings, cuz you never know. I mean, you I could lend a(n oversized) sweatshirt, but J might want some long sleeves, just in case. Doesn't look like he'll need 'em during the day, though---may only get a tad chilly if/when we have windows open at night? Here's what they're calling for:

Wed -- Sunny; 80°/50°

Thu -- Mostly Sunny; 82°/62°

Fri -- Mostly Sunny; 90°/67° (possibly a good pool day?)

Sat -- Isolated T-Storms; 83°/58°

Sun -- Partly Cloudy; 81°/64°

I'm totally psyched. Hope I'm over this minor crud by then. I'll give you a call when I'm making my grocery list this evening, hope to catch you in.

Ooh- please let me know how Of Human Bondage is! I'm always interested in pre-Production Code rrrrrrribaldry! (That last bit should be read in the voice of Jon Lovitz.)

I am so unbelievably stoked for the Wallace and Gromit movie. Has the kid seen Chicken Run? That one is hilarious too.

I don't think he's seen any Nick Park stuff. Creature Comforts is perhaps a little much for a 6 year-old, but I'm thinking he'll get into A Close Shave or The Wrong Trousers.

::grin:: Yay for Wallace & Grommit!
