I searched for Alweg because it sounded like a bizarre name for an American city, and i'm always up for visiting places with bizarre names. Turns out Alweg is the name of the monorail manufacturer. So what city is this?

It's Seattle, 1960s.
One possible hint could've been that the radio station starts with "K"--- that mean west of the Mississippi, vs. "W" stations east of that river.
