Somehow it took me about three tries to get the pun to work. Recently, during my forced marches at, like, the mall, I noticed a pop-up spectacle shop called Eyequity. I figured it was a weird play on "equity." But today, I noticed the Q was capitalized, "EyeQuity." And I started to wonder if that meant the Q was pronounced like the name of the letter. Maybe it's a play on the word "acuity." I suppose that would make more sense, even if it's not spelled that way. I thought I should ask the guy in the booth how his business was pronounced, until I realized that would probably be annoying. But then again, it seems like creators of punnish business names ought to be more careful.

I'd be thinking the guy in the booth isn't the owner, but I might find it hard to resist trying to open the discussion anyway, on the (way-)off-chance that the guy'd be into talking about words. Imagine how fun if he were!

There's a pun on "punish" to be had somewhere....

Well, yeah, the guy at the counter wouldn't be the owner. Which is one reason I didn't want to annoy the poor bastard, stuck working at one of those mall not-quite-stores.
