Cool! I m'self googled about the fire a bit when i came across the card.

An the way in to the library today, I heard a thing on NPR about the 1986 Los Angeles Library fire. It was an interview with Susan Orlean, author of "The Library Book." I decided to look for it on the website, only to discover there was a long line to check it out. But then it said a copy was available at Malletts Creek. I found it on the Zoom Lends/Express Shelf, and so I can check it out as I leave.

It sound fascinating, if really sad.

In a way I suppose all these library fires hark back to the library at Alexandria. The famous presager of the Dark Ages.
