When I was a teen, my dad took us on a vacation to some of the maritime provinces. I think we went there, But it was so blasted long ago, I can't be sure anymore.

When I was that age, I wanted to go to Nova Scotia. I think I'd called for a brochure after seeing a TV ad. Something like that. I also wanted to go to Scotland. Still haven't been to either one.

My ol' pal Suzanne and her partner, who's a Park Service person, went to Cape Breton and sent me that one, some years back.

Maps can be so pleasing.

I'm fond of maps. Even moreso when I was a whippersnapper. I loved the miniaturization of them, and relished following a road trip on one in real time.

Really, I loved maps in so many ways as a kid. As an artform and as a graphical language. Sometimes I go to Google Maps to follow past trips and places I used to spend a lot of time. Recently just to make more sense of my commute.
