"excellentimus"

Checking my tires for marking by the 2-hour parking police, I just heard myself utter aloud, "No chalk! Excellentimus!" I used to use the word in high school, thinking it cool, but it never caught on. Where were their senses of humor, I ask you?

Um. I am a little embarassed for you, but not everything can be a winner. I am still riding high off your fantastic boob-grabbing air quotes (characterized by [livejournal.com profile] homovegetarian as @these@).

Alas, you are also deficient in the Appreciation Department on this one. Join the crowd!

now, do you pronounce that with an italian latin accent or is it americanized?

For extra comic effect, Americanized!

It's fake Latin. In Latin the "-imus" makes something superlative---as we do in English with "-est" or "most ______." "Excellent" is too long for a suffix to do that in English, though I'd think "excellentest" funny, too. As I do "irregardless"---the redundant as funny?

I also like "on account of" used incorrectly as what I guess is a subordinate conjunction (vs. in a prepositional sense). On account of I'm twelve (as [livejournal.com profile] disclaimerwill might say).

i love irregardless, too!
