Date: Aug. 21st, 2018 07:48 pm (UTC)One thing about the diagonals: there are a couple streets I've been to that have them but mandate that people back into them. Sure, that's nice later when you just scoot out, and I like to plan ahead and do the hard part first a lot, but it also seems kinda to defeat the ease and friendliness of 'em. Like you know how stop signs and lights are sometimes (perhaps again this is [capitalist] American) set up to favor those arriving to "shop" (spend money), vs. those trying to get outta the place after they've done their duty that way? Like they're trying to be inviting to draw in the spenders? Diagonal parking seems a little like that--- inviting. But not when it's back-in-only.
