Busted my little toe (and whacked its neighbor, my next-to-littlest) last night on a bookcase. I asked at work for a better story I could tell about what I did, but no one has offered a suggestion yet, so I've only got the truth to tell you here today.

Last time I broke a toe it was dancing to "Love Shack" in the kitchen of what I call the Brady Bunch apartment (lingering 70s decor, including shag-ish carpet), in the queer little 500 block of E 41st St in Baltimore. It hurt, but at least I had the tale to tell, the image to suggest, of my exuberant abandon meeting the metal foot of the table.

The TRUE story of what happened to fflo's toes:

fflo was peering out of the window of a 20-storey building when she noticed that the glass on the outside of the window was quite dirty--filthy, really. So, as she just happened to have her windex and rag in hand, she decided to step out on the ledge and clean the window because she is just such a courteous and thoughtful soul. As she stood dutifully cleaning the window and enjoying the view from that side, suddenly, a gust of window nearly blew her right over. She lost her balance, was about to fall when, miraculously, her pinky toe caught the ledge and she dangled there for a moment in shock before she found the super-human strength that comes to one in such dire circumstances to pull herself up and back on to the ledge. The pinky toe and the one next to it were slightly traumatized by the experience, but it is a small price to pay for such an awesome feet (-:

Very nice! I guess I DO have awesome feet.

I'm glad that you're so confident I'd have super-human strength kick in. I'm not about to jump off a ledge or anything, but I do wonder whether, were I to find myself dangling, I might just think, "Aw, fuck it" and give up.

well, as you can see from the TRUE story of what happened to you, that would not be the case.

the feet are a highly under-rated part of the body, as you can also see from this truly harrowing tale. so many people don't like their feet, or feet, in general, but you know what I say to them, be nice to those feet because someday they may save your life.

ha!

have i talked to you before of my appreciation for feet? i used to have quite a rep at college for giving foot massages. it's not a fetish in the sense that i don't get off on it in any sexual way; it's a fondness for feet, and a pleasure at how much it can make somebody feel good to have 'em bathed and rubbed, and at how good it feels when somebody does that for me.

ooohhh, I'll have to remember that?!
my riend Scott loves feet. I take a picture of my feet in the setting usually whenever I go anywhere cool and give him a double. He has this sweet painting of feet that I'm sure you would pro'ly appreciate. I know your appreciation is a bit different, but it is a cool painting--all of these nubby little toes crowded together on a huge canvas.
