I remember visiting a consignment shop and loved looking at photos like these. The guy on the top left has pretty nifty jazz hands going on. I do feel sad when these types of photos are up for sale because you know someone in the family adored these types of moments on film.

Yes, they're a particular kind of ghosts, these mystery people whose loved ones lost track of their images at some point, no doubt often by becoming ghosts themselves. It's fun to wonder about the people, tho. Probably almost a hundred years ago, now.

There are no children so I don't suppose this is a family. Are they work colleagues perhaps? The backdrop makes me wonder if they're a theatrical troupe.
