whacky Friday afternoon

We may be getting a little giddy here at the office, this interminable Friday. Big discussion just wrapped up about mixing foods---on the plate, mainly. And order of food eaten. And behavior surrounding mashed potatoes.

Out to drink to [livejournal.com profile] squirrelykat this evening, in a much-belated birthday celebration.

Saw the Wisconsin quarter earlier this week:

You know what's cool about it? Besides that it has a cow head & corn & CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE? It came out in 2004, which was the year [livejournal.com profile] upsidedownblue lived in Wisconsin, so he'll always be able to figure how long it's been when he sees one of those quarters. You know, 17 years from now or something.

But I suppose he might not think of it that way.

So are ya'll offa yer computers for the weekend already? If not, what's goin' on?

What, no beer on the quarter?

Maybe that was on one of the rejected designs. (Rejected because the artist had partaken too freely?)

quarter bounce!?

CHEESE RULES!.... it's one of the best State quarters out there.
there's a scandal though, about it - guess there have been some minting
mistakes, and now all the coin collectors are in a tizzy to get a
`defective' one.

And I spent mine in the locker at the gym! It was the only quarter I had left, and I'd even put it in my left pocket (coins usually in the other one) so's not to spend it by accident.

It said most of the anomalies are turning up in the Southwest, though. Wonder if it'll turn out it's a scam---like people are altering them intentionally. According to that piece, the Mint dude can't figure out where the extraneous marks would be coming from.

Mmm...cow, cheese, and corn

I had two tacos for bunch today. They were made of cow, cheese, and corn. It's like swallowing a quarter!

Though I don't generaly associate tacos with Wiscosin.
