I keep forgetting to plug this piece.

Check out [livejournal.com profile] peteralway's interview on NPR from last weekend about his LEGO dulcimer, complete with a sample of his playing on it his composition "May Damsels Dance"---whose name I misread as suggesting that the damsels of May are dancing, vs. the meaning with "may" as the verb form. (I suppose it contains that interpretation as well, in that sense in which poetry does that.)

May Damsels Dance

Considering how awful most of my titles are, I am pleased with the ambiguity of this title--it is a declaration of the desire on the part of the composer that damsels might dance to the music, which is how I prounounce; it is quite literally a tune composed in May that damsels danced to, albeit in the following October; and yes, if the damsels of May wish to dance in celebrtion of spring, I would be honored to play this for them.

By the way, here are a couple of digital versions of the music, a midi file that plays when you open the page, and a downloadable mp3.

Heard it live (well, tape-delayed). Good stuff!
