Seems like we just had a workday.

One on which somebody got fired, no less.

I was a bit glum for a hunk of today. Decided to try getting out in the air, and took the dog for some hiking about, where there'd be some shade, on this lovely temperate day (that offered some clouds too), and we got nice and tired, which was good. I cooked for myself with yesterday's farmers market gleanings and the meals were mediocre. The dog threw up, maybe from eating too much grass. The barf's in the trash can out at the street along with the rest of the literal refuse of last week. The cats have a clean litter box, I've got FroBones ready for the week, and one load of laundry to fold, if I decide to fold it.

I dunno. I think I'm maybe gonna sleep deep tonight, on accounts getting barely any sleep last night. Hope so. Hope for rich dreams, and remembering them.

I am really enjoying my new $11 comb. Much more than the cheap plastic combs of the same shape I usually use. It's strange what a difference it makes.

sounds like the perfect day to me! :D

I haven't used an actual comb since I was a kid. Hurts too much when it rips my hair out. A brush rips it out more gently. Actually I rarely used one then, as my dad always gave us buzz cuts.

The truth is that I have long hair because I've never had a haircut that wasn't humiliating.

It's pretty hard to imagine you with short hair, but I suspect I'd think humiliation isn't called for. Insofar as it signifies that others are looking at you with (any more than the usual) contempt on account of it.

I like the line in "Hair" about down to here, down to there, down to where it stops by itself. The non-interventionist approach to hair (non-)styling.

Maybe you'd find the Kent comb an improvement! It's pleasant. I don't understand why. But it is. To me.

I remember that line, and discovering that there really was a point, as the song said, "I never have to cut it 'cause it stops by itself." Yep. My hair's been there well over a decade.

When I got my last haircut, in preparation for a job interview, my ex literally screamed at the sight.

You are not allowed to use that comb. It is only for men.

i too dont ever use a comb because it rips out my hair. i either use a brush, or if i need a part and its not cooperating, a pick. (usually my hair parts on its side. but if i want two braids or pigtails, i need a center part and that doesnt cooperate without a little help). and short hair was mortifying for me. i was ok with shaving my head, but growing the hair back was horrible while it was short. when it got longer and more difficult to manage, it was actually easier to tolerate. i looked exactly like my brothers with short hair and it was horribly horribly wrong.
