It's blustery and mostly overcast, with rain dripping or threatening, today.  The sun's peeked out a little here and there, but the air's crisp, and some bundling up is called for.  I liked the thin, cool air in my lungs.

The paths through the woods are muddy.  It was really slow going in places, and I just don't have it in me to go back and retrace the last half of the travels, after I'd unknotted the scarf, to see where it fell off.  Alas, and woe.  Perhaps I'll find a similar white scarf with fringe to replace it with.  Then Lorrel and I will both be wearing replacements.

It was good to get outside, despite how it seems to've taken it outta me.  First day in a few that I've carried my phone more than 3000 steps, it tells me.  And the dog is happily snoring away, still, over an hour after we got home.

We visited a gnarled tree I like.  Here's me in a [livejournal.com profile] kishenehn-like moment, showing you a Prisma-fied version of it:

I didn't like losing that day, in my head, and how it played out in my head.

I do like my kitty purring on my lap/belly, rubbing his face on the edge of the laptop.  He's warm.  Warm is nice.

Which woods were you pathing through? I was doing boardwalks and pavement through the woods over the weekend.

That there was County Farm, but in the open-to-dogs parts you probably choose not to explore there. And we cut through the trees in a few places, as we could manage. Some of the paths were pretty mucky.

Most of County Farm is open to dogs. I'm remembering a tree kind of like that along the north side of the park on the hill descending out of Barton woods.

That's probably the tree! Good eye. I was heading up the hill toward the old Barton Woods this time. Or we were. :)

Found some other shots of it on my phone from a few winters ago. This look like yer tree?

That's probably it. I recall that it is a really distinctively gnarled little tree. Though upon checking google maps, I guess it's Britton woods!

And, of course, I go 'round the park clockwise, and you were going counterclockwise.

Well, I was actually doing a sort of flopped-over/retroflex figure 8 with a side excursion to the Prairie Circle and a little jaunt into the pine woods adjacent thereto. But basically yeah. :)
