I remember flying there on the way to Los Alamos when I was a Scientist. Mostly I remember how hard it was to spell.
That, and how few times the plane from Albu--uh--Albuquerque to Los Alamos actually flew. Which made me sad, because it was a really cool flight, ending with a landing on an airstrip on top of a mesa.
It's been a while, mangopip. But my favorite time was approaching at night, from the west, after a long drive in the dark, and coming over the ridge to see the lights of the city spread out below, like some grand oasis. :)
