just updated cpap_diary

First entry for [livejournal.com profile] cpap_diary since May, but it's in honor of 2000+ hours of CPAP usage---I'll pass the mark tonight.

My brother just got set up with a machine himself. Gotta check in with the ol' bro' about that.

CPAP good.

CPAP my friend.

The evening of the sleep study when they fitted the mask to me and turned the machine on for a few seconds, I could feel it was exactly what I needed. The first morning after using it, I woke up, and wanted to take a walk--I hadn't wanted to burn off energy in years. I basically lost 50 pounds in the first year on the CPAP.

Me like CPAP.

I didn't know you were a fellow night-breather-through-thingie! How long have you been on it?

I've been CPAPing since 1999 or 2000. I've got two brothers using it too. I don't know about the othe two brothers (I know less of their business and haven't shared a hotel room with either of them). I looked back at your CPAP journal and was surprised that you had trouble with it. I guess it did take awhile to get things to the point where there was no leakage. My machine doesn't have a built-in humidifier, so in the winter months I find myeself running a humidifier next to it. I think the only times I've slept without it were during last summer's power outage (ugh--I had a nasty strep infection that same week and couldn't get to the doctor during the outage) and when I catnapped in the car on the way from a couple day trips that should have been overnight trips.

That's cool that your bro' got on the bandwagon. Let us know how he's doing with it.
