shopping news

Okay, not only are all "red box" frozen Stouffer's things on sale for a whopping 50% OFF at Kroger's (through Tuesday) (and you'll get another $5.00 off on top of that if you buy 12 or more), but among the videotapes at Big Lots for $2 each are Prick Up Your Ears, Mystery Train, a PBS documentary about ice cream, and (hey, [livejournal.com profile] madush) at least one James Bond picture. (I'da looked through 'em more thoroughly, but my VCR died a few weeks ago.)

Mmm...cheap frozen food. I should buy a wad. Who would think LJ would be so practical?

ah, Kroger, I do love thee-- too bad you are not out in the midatlantic; too bad you failed to extend your empire out this way.

I remember when you first moved out there & missed yer Kroger's. I suspect a big part of the problem is just that groceries are cheaper in the middle of the country. Like gas.

ah yes. that was a big part of it. look. i called it "kroger," which is the corporate way of calling it. people in cincinnati all call it "kroger's." so i have distanced myself. you can't go home again. and all that. my sister still works there-- has since about 1991.
