I know this question will make me seem like quite a dolt, but what exactly does this mean?

it means i'll be viewing submissions and giving feedback. an early-stage job. along with others i'll be helping decide which films go before the formal screening committees that determine what movies make the festival. (they have over 2500 submissions.)
