Yesterday I was going about the business here at work & saw yet another paper by S. S. Dragomir, one of the first mathematicians whose names I noticed popping up a lot, back when I was a newbie around here. Him and Donal O'Regan. So I got curious about the prolific S. S. and went nosing around about him a little. He's from Timişoara (hey, I used to know a guy from there), and now he's in Melbourne. What he's into? Inequalities.

Not being very mathy, I nonetheless opine that that's a cool thing to be into. I declare me into them too, albeit inequalities not equal to his. :)

His website throws up, at the bottoms of pages, dreamy-fuzzy images of certain inqualities, like

He's into surf fishing, too.

I wish I were either non-mathematical enough just let those things slide by as big puffy clouds of symbols, or that I were mathematical enough to look at them and grok them and smile knowingly. Alas, I am in that in-between place where I feel obligated to make sense of them, but really don't have the math fu to do so.

FWIW, I think all three of those need some context to make them grokable. Even for an analyst, there's specialized notation in each one that I can't immediately place.

yeah, you gotta have the terms defined, for one, you know? and then you gotta reckon what they're about. try going to dragomir's site and clicking on some of the explicator pop-ups?

fu-wise, i don't mind not getting what they mean. it's a fu of its own, that letting go. :)
